Digital Health Partnerships

UNFPA is proud to partner with leading women's health apps to bring life-changing sexual and reproductive health information directly into the hands of millions. Together, we’re harnessing the power of digital technology to close gaps in access, support informed decision-making, and advance health equity for women and girls around the world.

From menstrual tracking to maternal health to beyond reproductive years, as well as gender-based violence support, our collaborations help ensure that accurate, inclusive, and culturally sensitive information reaches those who need it most—when and where they need it.

These partnerships go beyond technology. They’re built on shared values and real-world impact:

  • Health Literacy: UNFPA experts contribute medically accurate, inclusive articles and resources to partner apps, boosting users' health literacy and empowering them to make informed decisions about their bodies and futures.
  • Evidence-Based Action: Through surveys and research initiatives, we’re gaining insights into the needs and challenges faced by users around the world, adding to the evaluative resources available in our region.
  • Shared Purpose, Shared Impact: Our partners raise awareness and funds to support UNFPA’s mission, helping expand access to life-saving services and uphold the rights of women and girls everywhere.
  • Global Advocacy: Together, we amplify critical messages through coordinated campaigns—like cervical cancer awareness, endometriosis education, and menopause positivity—across digital channels and global audiences.

Since our partnership with Flo was established in 2017, the popular period-tracking application has grown from 35 million downloads to over 400 million. Our collaboration includes co-created SRH articles, numerous social media campaigns, and we are currently working on localizing content for country-specific contexts.

MAMA PAPA PRO

Originally launched as MAMA PRO in 2020 with UNFPA support in Belarus, this app has evolved into MAMA PAPA PRO, a comprehensive parenting platform with over 100,000 users. It now offers inclusive tools like postpartum depression screening, father-focused content, and a national childbirth education program endorsed by the Ministry of Health.

Safe YOU

Launched in partnership with UNFPA in 2024, Safe YOU is a mobile app that enhances safety for individuals at risk of gender-based violence through real-time alerts, secure communication, and access to local support services. Designed for ease of use and multilingual accessibility, it empowers users to seek help and stay connected in crisis situations.
