UNFPA Moldova will support private sector companies and the Government of the Republic of Moldova in expanding family-friendly policies! In Moldova, 9 out of 10 women with children under 3 years are unemployed. It is estimated that women invest about 3 times more hours in family care and household work, compared to men. As a result, women either fail to reach their career potential or choose to have fewer children than they would wish - which is detrimental to families, the productivity of companies and society as a whole. UNFPA Moldova, with support from the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), will guide and build capacity in a group of private sector companies that have agreed to be part of the project seeking to expand family-friendly workplace policies and practices.
