With the war in Ukraine soon entering its fourth year, women and girls continue to bear a disproportionate burden of the devastation. Critical services have been disrupted, including maternal care and sexual and reproductive health (SRH). Meanwhile, women and girls face an increased risk of gender-based violence (GBV) due to conflict, displacement, and economic insecurity.
UNFPA, the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency, has been on the ground working with governments and partners to respond to these SRH and GBV-related needs in Ukraine and in neighbouring countries where refugees have fled. To ensure uninterrupted delivery of services and support to these vulnerable communities, UNFPA requires $94.4 million in 2025. We are appealing to donors to help us continue our mission of providing humanitarian relief, strengthening local capacities, and rebuilding long-term resilience.
