The 3-year programme "Expanding Choices: Gender-Responsive Family Policies for the Private Sector in the Western Balkans and Moldova” aims to expand choices for women so that they can fulfill their career, family and fertility aspirations by working with the private sector and governments to champion gender-responsive family policies.
In its first year, the Expanding Choices programme laid the foundation for family-friendly policies in the workplace and at national level. Over 20 companies have been identified across all three countries to pilot family-friendly workplaces and regional awareness campaigns have been launched to sensitize people on the importance and benefits of family-friendly policies for prosperous and equal societies.
The programme is funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation and is implemented in Albania, Kosovo and Moldova. This brief highlights achievements in all three countries in its first year.
