An assessment of the compulsory curriculum in the Republic of Moldova was carried out in 2021, the results of which were compared with those of a similar assessment conducted four years earlier, in 2017. The 2021 assessment showed that substantial progress had been made in the development of sexuality education programmes in the intervening years and that the current curriculum is much more in line with international standards for comprehensive sexuality education than previously.
