The European Youth Parliament (EYP) is the largest youth platform in Europe that encourages political debate, intercultural encounters, political-educational work, and the exchange of ideas among young people. The EYP consists of a network of 36 European associations and organisations in which thousands of young people are active in a voluntary capacity. It was founded in 1987 with the aim of educating the young Europeans and providing them a unique network to shape Europe’s future, as well as to develop professional, social and personal skills.

UNFPA's Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Office will participate in the 78th International Session of the European Youth Parliament by sharing knowledge and expertise in the field of women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), including relevant trends in the region with special emphasis placed on opportunities to address the curret challenges through increased access to and improved quality of SRH services, as well as the role of partners and communities in achieving universal access to basic support and services pertaining to reproductive health.

The UNFPA presentation and subsequent Q&A session will equip young delegates with important evidence and necessary knowledge to enable productive discussions during the committee work, which will result in the conclusions and recommendations to be reflected in the resolution of the International Session, to be adopted at the EYP General Assembly. The resolution will be shared with the European Parliament as well as national parliaments of the countries represented in the EYP by national delegations of young people.
