Sustainable Development Amid Demographic Changes: National and International Practices

On 28-29 November 2023, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Scientific-Research Institute of Family and Women and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Uzbekistan organized the International Conference on “Sustainable Development amid Demographic Changes: National and International Practices.” The conference is organized with the support of regional UNFPA programme “CISPop: Better Data for Better Policy.” The Conference brought together national stakeholders, international experts, foreign government officials, development partners, and representatives from the private sector to engage in discussions about the opportunities and challenges presented by demographic changes in the areas of education, healthcare, labor market and urbanization. It also offered a platform to showcase successful strategies and solutions and to share experiences in developing effective responses that are comprehensive, people-centered, and evidence-based.
