UNFPA's Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Office is seeking a international consultant for a short-term consultancy on mapping the opportunities to partner with the European Union in the region. This is a home-based consultancy reporting to the Regional Office in Istanbul with a duration of 3 November 2014 to 30 November 2014.

The aim of this assignment is to explore the scope for a strengthened partnership between UNFPA and the European Union (EU) in the EECA region. The expected tasks can be divided into three stages:

Part 1: Identify similarities between the EU Development Policy and UNFPA mandate

Part 2: Review EU financial instruments related to UNFPA mandate

Part 3: Make recommendations for a strengthened engagement at CO, RO, and HQ levels
