The devastation of the war in Ukraine has shattered countless lives, with over 12.1 million people in need of humanitarian support. The humanitarian crisis is exacerbated by attacks on essential infrastructure and services. Over 2,300 health facilities have been attacked since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, including 94 maternity wards. An estimated 2.9 million people are at high risk of gender-based violence (GBV), as years of conflict have eroded safety within homes and in public spaces.

UNFPA targets 935,000 women, girls, and young people in Ukraine and neighbouring refugee-hosting countries with life-saving sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and GBV services, reinforcing national health systems, deploying mobile clinics, and sustaining safe spaces across the region, prioritizing those most at risk — including older people, ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, and LGBTQI+ communities.

To protect the rights, dignity, and future of those most vulnerable in Ukraine and neighbouring countries, UNFPA urgently requires US$61.5 million. Immediate, flexible funding is critical, as every day without action is a risk to a life.
