This report documents the building process of the National Transfer Accounts (NTA) for Azerbaijan and outlines the main findings from this exercise. This document was developed in a joint partnership between the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan (MLSPP). The aim of this report is to describe the complex age or generational dimension of the economy at the national level in Azerbaijan and highlight its importance. Specific trends and facts that reflect economic characteristics are identified, along with cultural patterns of intergenerational transfers, and the life-cycle deficit in Azerbaijan in 2017 and 2020. The research undertaken incorporates macro aggregates obtained from the integrated accounts of institutional sectors and data from Azerbaijan's Household Survey conducted by the SSC of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 10,200 households in 2017 and 2020.
