Bosnia and Herzegovina prepares for a census that is long overdue

  • Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the few countries not to have held a census since 1991. After the armed conflicts of the 1990s and more than 20 years after the previous census, there have been substantial changes to the population and structure of the country. UNFPA is taking the lead in supporting the census which is scheduled to take place in late 2012.
