Population Censuses: Challenges and Opportunities
On 22-23 May 2023, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan, jointly with the Interstate Statistical Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States, UNFPA Eastern Europe and Central Asia organise the International Forum on ”Population Censuses: Challenges and Opportunities”. The Forum is being organized as part of the regional programme “CISPop: Better Data for better Policies”.

Population and Housing Census in Turkmenistan
According to the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan "On conducting a complete census of the population and housing stock of Turkmenistan in 2022" the population and housing census in Turkmenistan will take place 17-27 December, 2022. A pilot census was successfully conducted in December 2021, as a preparation for the upcoming Population Census. The population and housing census will be carried out by interviewing the population and filling out electronic census questionnaires.
